Meet the Crew

This is the human and furry faces that make Potluck & Pups possible!

Candace

Hi, I'm Candace! I have spent my whole life being a jack of all trades. I have done just about every kind of crafting there is from painting to hair bows (for humans and dogs). I have been baking and cooking for as long as I can remember. I like to measure with my heart and put my heart into everything that I make.

About 9 years ago, I inherited a dog I never planned on having. My mom rescued him, but he chose me. The challenge with Toto was that he had no teeth and I struggled to find food that he would eat. So, I decided to try making him homemade dog food and it worked! Toto lived to the ripe old age of 15! Which is pretty good for his breed! Toto was my soul dog and will be forever missed. Even though Toto is no longer here the tradition of making homemade dog food carries on.

My favorite things in this world are my dogs (including toto), my partner Matt, playing video games, watching Alaskans live off grid on YouTube, reading, binge watching tv shows, and crafting. I spend my weekdays working a full-time job and my weekends complaining there isn't enough weekend while I meal plan, meal prep, and do Sunday dinner.

I look forward to sharing my recipes and hearing how others have put their own spin on it!

My dream is to one day own several acres of land. I want to grow most if not all of my own produce. I'd also like to have chickens, Nigerian dwarf goats, pigs, and cows. Though I don't plan to be off grid I do want to live a simple self-sustaining life (especially when I retire from the 9-5 grind) and minimizing my bills. The older I get the more I think about my golden years. I do not have children to move in with and drive crazy. This dream is why I like to learn how to make things from scratch like bread and cheese.

Missy (Moo)

Missy is a Shichon (Shih Tzu & Bichon Frise). She is the self-proclaimed official supervisor of the kitchen. You cannot step foot in the kitchen without her following behind to see what you are up to and if there will be any treats in it for her.

This pup doesn't have a mean bone in her but has the attitude of a teenage and a side eye that will make you re-evaluate your life choices. She is the pup that kept me going and gave me purpose after losing my souldog Toto.

Her favorite things in this world are tiny tennis balls, her lambchop toys, snuggling her humans, and bugging her sister Ava.

She lives by the saying "Move your meat, Lose your seat!". If you get out of your seat Missy will promptly claim it as her own.

Ava

Ava is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She is the house taste-tester with an Olympic-level talent for catching treats mid-air and never misses a cheese tax payment.

This overachieving corgi knows how to sit, lay down, speak, spin, give paw, give high fives, and get up on her back legs. If she's feeling really sassy she will spin while up on her back legs.

Her favorite things in this world are chasing squirrels, stealing Missy's toys, ripping the squeak out of every toy, belly rubs, and snuggling her humans.

Ava is a self-proclaimed hall monitor. No running or zoomies are to be had on her watch!...even if it means she herself will run after you to yell at you.
